Abstract
The camera registration extracted from fcature based sterco is usually considered sufficient to accurately localize the 3D points.How-ever,for natural scenes the fcaturc localization is not as prccisc as in man-made environmnents. This results in small camera registration er-rors.We show that even very sinall registration errors result in large crrors in dcnsc surfacc rcconstruction. We describe a method for registering entire imnages to the inaccurate surfacc modcl. This gives small, but crucially important improvcmcnts to the camera parameters. The new registration gives dramnatically better dense surface reconstruction
